The peacock teapot.

So we did register. You can find us at Macy's and Target. Trying to decide what I wanted required a lot of work. I couldn't just walk in and 'gun' everything I liked. Before registration, I thumbed through a number of house mags to get inspiration and then decided on paint colors and style before choosing a wish list.

I found a lot of the inspiration pieces online-- the same from my magazines at home. (It is amazing to think that I have more home decorating mags than wedding ones.) So with Martha's guidance and ELLE Decor's Winter Wonders edition (Dec 2010) I put together my dream house. And here comes the collage:

Now if you haven't picked up on my color scheme, I'm going to lay it out for you.  Check out the Home Depot for color swatches.

The registry all stems from the pictures and colors above. I think we did a good job matching our style. I look forward to seeing what we end up getting!

So you might just be wondering about my title. I'm going to wrap up with the most random thing on the registry. I can thank Paul for this one. He gunned it because he was bored, but won't let me take it off now (because it will hurt his feelings?). You will find that we are registered at Macy's for a $70 Peacock Teapot. Please, Please, Please don't think I put this on the registry all! It is not my style, and I don't like it.  How embarrassing! Here's a picture:

I'm interested in seeing if we get this. For all those readers out there... don't waste your money. Buy me sheets instead :)

Best!
Amber

  1. That is the single most attractive peacock teapot I have ever seen. I will be purchasing it!

  2. I love the blues and grays mixed with the exposed wood. It's sort of modern meets rustic. Good choices, and I can totally see both you and Paul in it. You're so much more organized and focused with decorating than I was. I pretty much have just a hodgepodge of things around here :o)

  4. Amber, you may get hundreds of these you know! I saw your search on Craig's list. I'm looking for items for my son's wedding in June. If I have any left over ivory tulle I will keep you in mind! Good luck and best wishes! Kirsten
